Pickleball Takes Center Stage in Peachtree City: A Look at the “Let’s Go Pickleball” Facility and Local Living in Peachtree City, GA

If you’ve driven along Highway 74 in Peachtree City, Georgia lately, you may have noticed a brand-new facility going vertical—one that promises to take our city’s pickleball enthusiasm to an entirely new level. In a recent episode of Peachtree City Radio, I had the pleasure of speaking with two of the founders of Let’s Go Pickleball—including former pro tennis star-turned-pickleball-pro, Donald Young, and commercial real estate expert Joe Paletta—about this state-of-the-art indoor complex and what it means for the community.

The Rise of Pickleball in Peachtree City

Site of "Let's Go Pickleball!" A first of it's kind, state of the art indoor pickleball facility.

Pickleball has quickly evolved from a lesser-known paddle sport to a national craze. While some people still assume it’s only for seniors, the game’s appeal now spans all ages—from kids to grandparents. As Donald Young points out, “Pickleball’s relatively short learning curve makes it easy for beginners to pick up, but its competitive depths challenge even seasoned athletes.”

The sport is so popular that many tennis courts (even in residential subdivisions) have been retrofitted with pickleball lines.

Peachtree City boasts a vibrant pickleball scene, including a large, active 501(c)(3) club (the PTC-Fayette Pickleball Club). While the club currently lacks a permanent home, Let’s Go Pickleball plans to fill that gap in a big way.

Introducing Let’s Go Pickleball

Let’s Go Pickleball is much more than just a repurposed building with a few temporary nets. Instead, it’s a 53,000+ square-foot custom-built indoor pickleball facility with 20 dedicated courts and top-tier amenities. Co-founders Joe and Donald revealed some key features during our conversation:

  1. Cushioned Courts: These aren’t your standard concrete surfaces. The facility offers “cushion X” courts designed to reduce stress on joints, ensuring a more comfortable playing experience.
  2. Acoustic Engineering: Pickleball paddles and plastic balls can generate a lot of noise. With acoustics in mind, Let’s Go Pickleball is being built to minimize echo, making it easier to converse on the sidelines or call out scores on the courts.
  3. Observation Deck & Social Spaces: In a game as social as pickleball, spectators and players alike will appreciate a 1,500-square-foot viewing deck. Guests can watch pro players practice or simply hang out to chat with friends.
  4. Pro Shop & Training Programs: The facility will include a pro shop for trying out paddles (not “rackets”!) and purchasing gear. Additionally, they plan to offer clinics, including free beginner-level classes in partnership with the PTC-Fayette Pickleball Club.
  5. Fitness & Wellness Add-On: In the near future, look out for a 10,000-square-foot expansion covering everything from strength training and nutrition coaching to possible chiropractic and cold therapy services.

A Win for the Community

Both Joe and Donald emphasized the community-minded focus of Let’s Go Pickleball. From fundraising tournaments for local charities to offering space for youth teams and school clubs, the facility aims to serve as a social and athletic hub for Peachtree City. It’s also a compelling draw for new homebuyers looking for a vibrant, active lifestyle south of
